Script Rumor: THE POLAR EXPRESS

If you have children you have hopefull read this book to them, and many times, I'm speaking of Chris Van Allsburg's "The Polar Express."
Here's a rumor that's been developing. Castle Rock's THE POLAR EXPRESS project has found a writer, and it's an excellent choice if true. Malia Scotch Marmo (MADELINE, JURASSIC PARK, HOOK) will give this project some much needed life. I am confident the script, once completed, will get this project on the fast track.
Based on Van Allsburg's book of the same name. The film will tell the story of a boy who does not allow his skeptical peers to persuade him from believing in Santa, and also taking a trip to the North Pole on a train called "The Polar Express." Tom Hanks is attached to the project and will play the train's conductor. Which is a no-brainer choice, excellent. The project is being developed by Rob Reiner who will also direct.
