Sony Acquires WORLD WAR Z Author's latest novel, THE HARLEM HELLFIGHTERS

According to Deadline.com, Sony Pictures has picked up the rights to author Max Brooks‘ (WORLD WAR Z) new graphic novel The Harlem Hellfighters. Brooks will adapt the script, with Overbrook Entertainment's Caleeb Pinkett and James Lassiter producing. According to the report, the story centers on World War I:

"1918, Harlem Hellfighters tells the story of the U.S. Army’s 369th infantry regiment, an African-American unit fighting in Europe during World War I. The famed infantry regiment spent more time in direct combat than any other American unit during the war. The men returned Stateside as heroes but still faced the hard hand of racism from their fellow soldiers, citizens and the federal government."
