As you know this time of year lots of TV development news with shows being cancelled, renewed, and placed in developmemnt.
NBC picked up Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer's CONSTANTINE. The story centers on a mysterious con man who uses his supernatural abilities as a detective tasked with battling dark and evil forces. And if that wasn't enough for Goyer, he also has signed a first-look deal with Universal TV. Don't forget Goyer is also the creator, executive produce, and director of Starz’s DA VINCI'S DEMONS. Recently he wrote THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (2012), MAN OF STEEL (2013), and he's working on BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE. It's hard to imagine another screenwriter (really he's an executive now more than anything) in Hollywood as busy right now as Mr. Goyer. (Source)
NBC also grabbed THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA written by Jeff Rake based on a Spanish series and directed by McG.
According to Deadline.com, Go USA has acquired James Franco's adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel CHILD OF GOD including exclusive North American rights. Franco co-wrote the script with Vince Jolivette. (Source)
According to Deadline, Bravo has put in development RULES OF ATTRACTION, an adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis book, with Roger Avary doing the scripting honors. If you recall he wrote and directed the feature film.
Bravo also picked up the ensemble drama SHANHAI which centers on a group of friends living in China written by David Henry Hwang who wrote M. BUTTERFLY. (Source)
