Screenwriting in the News 5.1.14

Author  Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl  sold over 6 million copies with a cult like following, even today long lines gather whenever she does a book signing. She also adapted her own book for the upcoming film for Ben Affleck.  When asked recently about how the book's ending will translate to film she said,  "I cannot give away, in good conscience, the ending of the movie, but I wrote the screenplay, so it was in good hands."


Callie Kloves is set to adapt Arwen Elys Dayton novel SEEKER  for Sonyl. If her name sounds famliar that's because she is the the daughter of Harry Potter scribeSteve Kloves.  SPEED and SOURCE CODE producer Mark Gordon is overseeing the adaptation. 


The Sci-fi fantasy New Babylon written by David LoPresti from an original concept from co-founder Joshua Wassung. 


Melissa Mathison who wrote E.T.  has perhaps written the next Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg production of Roald Dahl children’s book  BFG; a Cold War story set to star  Tom Hanks with Steven Spielberg at the  helm.
