According to reports, MGM has tapped Sascha Penn (THE SECRET LIVES OF HUSBANDS AND WIVES) to write THE IDOLMAKER -- which already has Craig Brewer attached to direct with Justin Timberlake rumored to be interested as well. THE IDOLMAKER will be a remake of the 1980  movie starring Ray Sharkey about the real life rock and roll promoter Bob Marcucci who discovered Frankie Avalon and Fabia.  Writer/Producer Sascha Penn recently wrote an untitled firefighter project for Lionsgate, which has Jeff Chan attached to direct. He also served as writer-producer on the Starz TV series Survivor’s Remorse.  Penn is repped by CAA and Madhouse Entertainment.
